Has this ever happened before that nr.10 is only 7 min behind at this point in the race?

The Dutch cyclists are clearly all determined to follow the example of their beloved national football team and never actually win anything. Kind of heartwarming patriotism right there.

Why can't LLS call it a day and let the racing begin. He wants to pull way too long, way too much, for some reason. Always. Why?

The tactics look crazy but this is the only opportunity for Astana and AG2R to test their rivals before the final climb. Maybe someone else will drop like Mollema? If AG2R and Astana continue to push on the descent and flat when they have teammates in the break then we can call them mad.

Maybe because his team tells him to?

Because he's told to.

It's up to his DS and/or Aru to tell him to up the pace.

They should keep pushing the pace. Chaos in the descent and flat is the perfect way to distance riders, especially if they have weak teams like Yates.

Many Vuelta's I think.

of course i mean in the tour

in the giro i know that it's impossible :)

Im sure Giro 2012 was closer

10th was 8 minutes back, so close
It was actually 6 minutes after the 19th stage, 15 riders inside 10 minutes

pity that kreuzi can't follow, but there is long descent and some 10k flattish, so they'll probably come together anyway

EDIT: mud streams across the road...watch out, skyborgs
