If I'm Quintana, I don't want Valverde taking yellow
Doesn't make a difference when the Skytrain takes off on the Aspin and Valverde gets dropped at one point

At the very least, it would force Movistar to waste energy riding at the front to 'defend' the yellow.

Stuyven to make amends from stage 2.
I dont think he can recover so quickly, that breakaway must have cost him lots of energy.

Look right, the likes of Sagan and GvA should drop before the last run in, yet it's not hard enough finale for the likes of Martin, so it leaves Valverde and his French shadow. But maybe one of the more typical GC guys will be willing to give the two a hard time.
This caught my eye from Praying Mantis' excellent preview:
The finale is very technical as there are numerous hairpin bends on the climb and in the final 2.5km.
A chance maybe for Nibali to go over the top of the last climb and stay away? Or maybe even Aru based on his performance in the Dauphine!

5,4 km with 8,1% followed by 4,4km with 7,9% within the last 35k is surely not a one for Sagan, GVA, Matthews, Hagen, Stuyven (!) (all names mentioned in this thread) unless raced horribly conservatively?

Valverde was 16th in today's stage. He wants that yellow desperately.

And i think he wants a good GC in the end too.

What do Pinocchio, Contador and Valverde have in common?

I expect this to be ridden hard... Sky and Movistar will smell blood and want to put Contador under pressure. Movistar have the added incentive of setting up Valverde while Ettix will want to make sure Sagan, Matthews et al are nowhere near Alaphilippe and Martin for the final.

1. Valverde
2. Alaphilippe

.
3. Martin

I dont care who wins, but I want AC to not lose more than 30s in the final drag.

Maybe Nibali will try something if he feels good!
This stage really depends how Tinkoff will handle the break (they should not let them go too far away in order to not increase pace too much in the final)
