Albasini had the right idea. Sagan was at the front going all out for 500m because of the chasing bunch. We know from the past (Omloop 2016) he has some difficulty sprinting immediately after a strong lasting effort. The Swiss wanted to anticipate a little but went just 50m too early IMO.

A very exciting and attacking stage - Good tactics by OGE who softened up the domestiques on the last 2 climbs - Unfortunately life is tricky when you Sagan who can do it by himself.

Yeah he smoked Matthews on the hill and on decent no chance to make contact with him.Combination hill+decent suit Sagan very well.
