Yeah, it's a joke, but those reckless finals aren't that uncommon in the TdS, in 2014 they had more than 1 questionable sprint stage.

Sagan might lack the big wins - well, more big wins than the WCRR - but I can honestly sat that I've never seen a rider like him. He's by far the biggest talent I've ever witnessed ride a bike. The only question is if he'll fulfill this potential and make his palmares reflect his talent and abilities.

Agreed. I can't think of anyone I've actually seen that comes close. This year he is fulfilling his potential, and it's almost a bit ridiculous.

can you explain, what did you mean. IMHO, despite being very good riders, they do not come anywhere close to Sagan and probably not only him, skill and talent wise. One has to just take into account, the domination Sagan has in his domain, and that's been mainly thanks to his talent and skills, although he's getting better at tactics too. And then there comes the versatility of Sagan, which is obviously thank to his talent too.

KOKOSO will explain you. He is the expert on Sagan and czech riders.

Edit; found it. Why on earth would they do that? Hope it's just a mistake in their roadbook because this doesn't make alot of sense. Especially when you're on a circuit.

Imo Alaphilippe is at least as talented

I don't think so. Alaphilippe is also a big talent. But Sagan was winning WT races when he was 20. Julian is 24 and is yet to win a WT race/stage. I fact Sagan is only 2 years older and has 81 wins (.1 or above) while Alaphilippe has 4. I know the progression of a rider differs from one rider to another. But the difference here is pretty big. It's amazing that Sagan has already more wins than Valverde who is 10 years older.

I can explain that too. SK Semtex just isn't exactly chuffed about me so that's why Kreuziger, König, Vakoč, Štybar and me ended on the previous page as part of the sharp sarcasm. Of course it doesn't make a sense, because it doesn't

It's not just in the roadbook:

Having a reckless final on a sprint stage is typical for the TdS, just like having a finishing circuit on almost every stage that isn't a MTF or an ITT, you'd think that the riders and the UCI (yeah, that's just wishful thinking) would adress the problem.
If you want to have a technical final you should have it after a hard stage, not after a sprint stage, but stuff like this is just stupid and dangerous.

Not surprised. Reminds me of that stage two years ago won by Modolo where Cav went down because of a corner inside the last few meters.

It's not awesome if they only figure that out the day of the stage. Else we get no action on the first 2 MTF's and then the final climb cancelled.

Why would you cancel the MTF?
Maybe we'll get a big of rain in the afternoon, so it's not like there's going to be pooring rain/potential heavy snowfall on the final km durning the whole day, but down in Sölden we'll probably have about 14°C, just like last year.

I think they were talking about a snow line at 1700m, but no forecast seems to confirm this. Schwiizertüütsch remains a difficult language to understand.

They are riding very, very slowly. There was a strong headwind for at least part of the stage.
