if ac was able to do the giro-tour double with a bit of luck as an ally both in 2011 & 2015, then froome is all the more able to pull the tour-vuelta off. its gonna be epic battle.

Froome probably won't even finish the race.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Froome finish the race but looking at the parcours I'd be extremely surprised if the Tour guys aren't cooked by the final week.

Cannondale-Drapac for the 2017 Vuelta a España:

Patrick Bevin
Simon Clarke
Joe Dombrowski
Davide Formolo
Ben King
Moreno Moser
Pierre Rolland
Andrew Talansky
Davide Villella

Talansky as leader with a strong squad behind him. With this team, Cannondale is a good contender to take some stage wins!

I was just making a teamselection for my Vuelta poule and I just noticed that there isn't any decent sprinter.
2nd tier sprinters are really missing a big opportunity to win stages in this Vuelta. Only 3rd tier sprinters!

There are going to be a lot of breakaway stage wins I think. Happened last 2 years as well on flat stages in the Vuelta.

Who do you think are decent sprinters here besides Bonifazio, Meersman, Sbaragli? Farrar and Haas most like lead outs?

Out of the rest I'd say that Arndt is pretty decent and could do some top 5 ?
Then I'm waiting to see what Felline can do in this hilly course

Gerrans isn't a real sprinter, but you'd think he would be motivated to try on a couple of stages. There's several "flatter" stages that still have cat 3 climbs near the finish.

Arndt for Giant. Bennati showed some form in Denmark...perhaps he'll be given a little freedom. Maybe Reza will try in some sprints. There really ain't anyone special here.

Is there anyone here that actually think Talansky will be able to finish top 10 GC?

I honestly don't know what to expect from him...

Perico said they dont have a great leader, but the fact is that they have 3 leaders: Talansky, Roland and Dombroski.

He could, Talansky could finish just a bit behind the top 5 or have a complete meltdown, both wouldn't surprise me at all.
Gesink could really surprise people, a performance like the 2014 Vuelta or even the 2015 Tour could be possible.
About Cannondale, the Vuelta isn't exactly a great gt for Dombrowski and Rolland, those unipublic stages with short, really steep climbs at the end don't suit them.

Worst sprint field ever.

What's up with Bouhanni btw? (still) injured?

Dombroski was super-dom for Talansky when he lost all that time in Utah.
May be it is time to give the Dom' a chance.

Dombrowski was intended to lead in Utah and Talansky to be helping him, but it turned out that Dombrowski couldn't keep up with the best and Talansky gained 4 minutes on him during the first mountain stage.

I would rather count on Formolo than on Dombrowski GC-wise. Rolland has never done well in the Vuelta either.

Wow too much hype for Lopez. I think that his first main goal is to finish the race, then if he is able of do that I think he will be putting a top-20 perfomance.

LOL, people complained that Cannondale were so late with announcing their roster, so they decided to announce their 2017 roster a whole year in advance!

I thought Moser was leaving for Astana, though...
