Drucker wins. No one crashed afaik which is good. Now onto the rest day and then can't wait for next stage.
So yesterday's time limit game
didn't pay off, really.

Well... if Bennati had managed to pull that one off that would've been the longest sprint ever!

Poor Benna, rode out of his skin to make it inside the time limit yesterday, chased down and beaten by dudes who took an extra day off :)

Only possible because of the 483 roundabouts in the last 2 km. And also the insanely weak sprint teams.

Sprint teams had too many fresh riders not to be a sprint finish, no matter that the actual sprinters involved weren't exactly the crème de la crème. I'm good with that. It's the best realistic outcome that could've been expected. Was pulling for Mate to make it, but at least he should start tomorrow with the red numbers.

1) Chaves 2) Froome 3) Quintana

ASO robbed Froome of 2 bonus seconds on Quintana. Knew they were in the Movistar camp this whole time

Ya know... I don't think you can just take the result, subtract everyone who was OTL yesterday, and say that that would've been the result for today. :p

Re: 2016 Vuelta a España, stage 16: Alcañiz > Peñíscola 156.

So Bennati, one of the worst climbers in the peleton, fought hard yesterday with a 19 minute time deficit to stay within the limit, and then today gets blown away by a bunch of riders who were on vacation? Disgusted with this race that promotes cheating.

Good post. It's very simple, if Bennati can finish within 20 minutes of the winner on such a stage, then so can 95% of the peloton.

For sure, he lost today because rules were not applied properly!! I'm a lot  due to peloton's agreement yesterday, would have been nice for them to let Bennati go and grab the victory!

Most likely, the/a break would have made it. But I guess that also goes to show how adulterated the whole thing is now.

It would have made for awesome racing, no? Ever team bar Movistar with 5 or 6 riders, attacks all over the place from really tired riders noticing their amazing chance of winning a stage. And repeat until Madrid. Pity.
