Let's be serious here - how many sprinters are there in the race worth riding most of the day on the front for?

Felline, Farrar, maybe Vandersande and who else?
Surely you are not riding most of the day on the front for a rider who has not finished higher than on 46th place even once this season?

I'm not sure we can even call him a sprinter these days. He is nothing else but domesique.

3.5 minutes with a week to go , boring race with GC over , Movistar have killed it , they're too strong , it gives no one else a chance , I prefer the Giro

where are those :) i guess it's boring when your favorite rider does not win

Surely even as a Froome fan, you find this Vuelta more entertaining than the last 4 Tours combined?

Well, 2015 was decent but apart from that...

Dropping Movistar today is the only chance anyone other than Quintana has of winning the Vuelta. The mountains aren't hard enough anymore

This Vuelta has been awesome. However, the Tour not being entertaining has (in most years) not as much to do with Froome and Sky, and almost everything to do with GC contenders not being able to properly handle their bikes, and lesser champions like Quintana being extremely happy to suck wheels and finish in a nice GC place, rather than give it all for a win, like Alberto usually does.

I mean, Froome attacks on descents and flats.

The problem isn't Froome, it's Sky. Yeah Quintana sucked wheels, but what else should he have done? Sky usually sets an incredible pace on all the big climbs so nobody could even think about attacking. Froome was basically the only one who really could attack because he was the only gc contender not immediately chased. And I don't want to badmouth Froome, I'm pretty sure no other gc contender ever would have made a cross wind attack like he did, but the thing is, even if someone would do, the gap would probably be closed by Sky within a minute.

6 riders (DILLIER,BYSTRÖM, VILLELLA, FARIA DA COSTA, MATE,MORICE) @ 3min ahead of the pack

And now Astana chasing without having sprinter in their team. I guess they help pacing Froome :D

I think he's pretty much stated himself that he's not really a sprinter anymore.
