nobody really knows if the course is fast or not, with all the wind

if its a high speed itt, for example over 52km/h than it will favor Froome

if it's around 50km/h than i agree Contador could win

If it is 50km/h due to hills AC might win (the old AC ofc. But the 2009 AC might still win even in the 52/km/h case).
If it is 50km/h due to headwind AC will lose more than in 52km/h one.

im expecting a win from dark horse. froome is exhausted, castro is fatigued because of everyday work for nairo, bertie is simply not good enough after numerous crashes..
Thomas De Gendt!
(think he's pretty tired too, but who knows - would be fun)

Not sure how Froome can realistically win this flat TT in windy conditions against much bigger riders especially since it looks likely the wind will likely increase over the afternoon

Quintana to do a Zakarin, and Froome and Contador to take back 3.5 mins, leaving it all to play for tomorrow.

Hard to gauge how tired the protagonists really are, so for what it's worth, Froome to take 20" on Contador and 1'10" on Quintana.

Another not-so bold and wrong prediction ;) .

I fear the strong winds on Quintana today.

I won't help Contador either. He is not heavy by any means.

Yeah, I am concerned about the wind. It'll be an even bigger disadvantage for Chavito and Nairito, but it's definitely not good for Berto either compared to Froome. The average speed is quite low (46.25kph for Campenaerts) and Berto once claimed he can compete with the best in TTs with an average speed of 48-49kph or less, but I'm sure he didn't take the wind into consideration when he said that.

maybe castro although i think Contador is a better ITT than castro.
You underrate Castroviejo. Criminally.

Who has more ITT wins?

I won't argue that castro would do better if it's the first week but now it's a different story

Miburo, you can honestly do better than that.

Contador might do better, who knows. But that bolded really isn't an argument - Contador is what, 5 years older? And he isn't exactly beasting it lately on 'flat' time trials.

Euh what about the giro last year?

Where he rode in the wind an amazing time, competition wasn't the best but neither is it here.

I think in the third week of a GT there isn't much between Castroviejo and Berto - could go either way depending on the circumstances and form of the day.

Edit: does anyone know how much Castroviejo weighs? He's quite small. Might not like the headwind much either.

I have commented on that earlier in this thread - amazing performance. But I was singling out your pretty lame argument that Contador will do better because he has won more time trials during his career. You know that. ;)

PCS and Movistar web page say 62kg. Wiki says 64kg.

Right, so probably 5+ kg lighter than Froome. This could be good for Laengen - he's huge

Did you forget the circumstances of that ITT fleur? Come on, i thought you remembered every race of Berto.

The wind changed otherwise he would have won that ITT, he was clearly better than kiry that day

Only the first part early starters had an advantage, 2nd part suggested the roles were reversed. Kiry isn't such a terrible climber that his time loss only came from that.

Yeah, that's how I remember it as well. Late starters were really slow in the first part and made up a lot of time in the 2nd part. We can't know what the result would have been if they had all had similar circumstances.
