I must admit I didn't see this. I think Quintana is doing a decent ITT, but Froome is absolutely smashing it.

He might have faded, it's all in relative terms compared to the rest of the field.

Of course he would have. Froome was out of it that day - he couldn't even follow Scarponi, Valverde or Sanchez on the last climb. Quintana would have easily taken at least 30 seconds on him even without the break. And more on Mas de la Costa and Aitana if he needed to.

30 seconds that day would have not been enough, it looks like he's going to need all of that 2:40 he took that day.

With cr*ppy opposition in the Tour, yes, is doable.

Yes, but Froome was more on the limit compared to other riders in the last mountain stage.

It's clearly doable as Froome has shown us. Froome and his team just made a big mistake, but clearly he can do it.

As long as he hasn't won the race, how can you say that?
Also, as has been pointed out, he had an "easy" Tour with a strong team controlling the contenders every day. Not guaranteed that will happen again

Unfortunately for those that love drama, it is hard to see tomorrow's stage being tough enough for a real close battle for green. The final climb suits Quintana quite a bit.

He clearly has faded - he's lost minutes in the mountains. He's just a much better TTist than everyone else in the race. It would be a lot more interesting if someone like Cancellara or Dumoulin were here to put Froome's time into some kind of context.

Well, he got a medal in the olympics in between in a different continent, so you have to give him more credit than usual, not less.
