I heard that Trofimov got a call on his mobile from Kreuziger just as Chaves attacked, and he missed all the radio messages to drop back.doperhopper said:Cance > TheRest said:Trofimov is finally there
Howson most probably pre-dropped from the break to be "just in time" in the right place while Trofi was probably already descending when the news came to him
Trofimov should have kept an eye on Howson. After teammates are of much use on the flats not so much on the uphill gradient >6%.doperhopper said:Cance > TheRest said:Trofimov is finally there

Well yeah after stage 15 Movistar could help out a bit, otoh it's a race and Contador isn't on Movistar.huangho said:Quintana and Contador not friends anymore??

Maybe, but Howson could go for a lot longer if he was allowed a bit of recovery. This climb is pretty gentle until the Tudons - the longer he holds on the better.DanielSong39 said:DFA123 said:Chaves should have taken a pull every now and again; even just for 20 seconds - Howson would be able to hold a much higher tempo for longer then.
I'm sure Chaves is looking at his power meter; as long as Howson provides enough watts it's better to follow.
