Its not. Murito needs insane gradients for at least 1km. Mur doesnt have that
Who came up with that definition? Thats maybe your opinion but imo a Murito is simply a short, but very steep climb, and I'd say a 1.3 km long climb of which the last kilometer has an average gradient of 11.5% and stretches of up to 19% is both short and steep.
As I said, thats my opinion, you might think differently about it but afaik I'm not the only one who thinks the Mur de Huy is a Murito.

The only reason Miburo doesn't think its a Murito is because it doesnt fit his argument, its pretty obvious...

Brambilla ftw

Contador should focus on not losing time to Froome Valverde and Chavito, whilst gaining time on Quintana in the process.

There are many other, much more suitable stages, for Contador to gain time on Froome and Chaves

Huy is a murito, but I'm with netserk, the Murito par excellence is Montelupone. That was where the legend of Murito was born, after all. It's also like all the others but somehow more; I would value a win there above most other such finishes in any stage race (one day races with such finishes, such as Flèche, are a different story).

Valverde is usually very good at the beginning and in "Muritos" so he can win tomorrow. Not sure the form of Dani Moreno because he could do it tomorrow.

Contador has destroyed piti many times on steeper stuff. Mende, PV 14, vuelta 12...

My favourite Mende-moment was last year. Contador begging Valverde to pull, Valverde telling he can't and has Quintana upfront, 10 seconds later he leaves Contador in the dust with an insane acceleration and nearly sprints up to Quintana and Froome.

When did Froome start getting dropped for good by the 3 amigos in 2012?

Collada de Gallina is when it started, but he also made a tactic mistake there. Contador goaded him into attacking and countered hard. Then he got 4th on Mirador de Ezaro I think, but I'm not sure he finished behind Valverde that stage. Yoyoing started on the Ancares, where he eventually got back and started the attack that resulted in Purito dragging back Contador. That wasn't without losing 20s or so himself. Then on Covadonga he was dropped pretty convincingly, then he lost minutes on Cuitu Negru, lost more about 5 minutes on Fuente De, and was a bit better and lost about a minute on Bola del Mundo IIRC. His best stage that year was the first murito, dropped Contador and Valverde and got Purito'd by Purito. I think it was the 6th stage.

Hopefully Bertie can get back some time on Froome & Quintana. Would not be surprised for a breakaway win as the GC boys will be looking at each other.

Already four pages in this thread, and the previous stage counts 5 in total...
Nothing definite to happen. Some indications for early speculations, nothing more. Froome should be relaxed considering the cushion he carries from the ttt. He has the luxury to give away some seconds if doesn't feel the best.
Valverde stands out as a favourite here, as far as I'm concerned.

Ideal for Sky if he's in red as well.

It's always a party when valverde beats contador (of course that valverde only beats contador with his terrific wheelsucking tactic

Yes, the jersey is partially a reason why I picked him.

Valverde is good in muritos that have a false flat in the end (5/6%). When muritos have more than 12% in the end only purito is better than contador

Im seing plenty of Valverde predictions. Let's not forget that he has a Giro/TDF combo in his legs. Oh wait.
