Standings

Although this is only month three, there was very little change in the table, and none at all in the top 7: 8th and 9th swap places, and Squire rises from 12th to be the only new entrant into the top ten. Togo95 links top score this month with biggest riser, but 5 places is scarcely game shattering.
A third place to follow up on 2 wins: DJW's lead already looking serious.

Nice to see I'm doing okay so far in this game. The list of scorers on my team for this update doesn't seem to be correct though. Hope it's only the names that are wrong, and not the points. :D

I've double checked: I do have your team correct per the series of PMs on 31 Jan/1 Feb, but I was cutting and pasting Togo's top scorers (yours only had one name difference, and I am a hopeless typist) I substituted Planckaert instead of Banaszek with your pick of Yssaad.

Your scores for the month, and in total, are correct, it was just the summary I got wrong (now corrected).

That's good to know. :)

Will you ever upload any spreadsheets? Could be fun to get more of an overview of what's going on from time to time. If that's not more work for you, obviously.

Year 1, Month 4 3rd to 30th April (yes, that is a week ago, but it was the most recent update when I went to CQ this evening. I guess it fits the intention of monthly updates...

Standings

DJW still leads the way, but he had a fallible month to give the rest of the contestants some hope. Blues in the Bottle and 18Valve are new on the podium, and the volatility pf the early stages of the game is shown by Jakob747's 7 place rise into the top ten.

Standings
Early thoughts that DJW might do a Maes, a Bottecchia or a Frantz by leading from stage 1 to the finish are put aside. Blues in the Bottle moves from second to the leadership, June's top scorer Cordi333 is also the top jumper, with an 8 place climb to second, and a 7 place rise makes Amis Velo the only new entry in the top ten.

I just realize that I forgot Pavel Sivakov in my team. It's been a fantastic year for him, winning in Isard and Baby Giro. He's now one of the best promises to become a GT contender. Maybe he's going to be a key pick, it's only in 5 teams.

An unchanged podium, but the lead is much reduced. Madrazo's top score of the month is rewarded with a jump from 8th to 4th, and those 2nd and 3rd this month move into the top ten, Del with a month's best 5 place rise.

Standings

Madrazo's riders have had a great couple of months: he was top of the monthly scores last month, and 2nd this time, which has brought him to the top of the rankings. Cordi333 retains 2nd place, with previous leader Blues in the Bottle dropping to 3rd. Madrazo, the month's top scorer, GP Blanco and ValvPiti share the best rise mention (3 spots), the latter breaking into the top ten

I probably say the same every few months, but thanks again for running and keeping all these games up to date!

I'm happy that I'm doing quite well so far in my first participation. I'm also happy to note that none of my riders look like complete duds yet (getting a bit worried about Ravasi, but he's so popular that it's not a disaster). Also, my team (and a lot of others) now have an advantage over the 16 Cink teams (which includes the leader, Madrazo).

Year 1, Month 10 25th Sept to 5th November (but not much likely to happen for the rest of the year)

Those low profile end of year Chinese races with disproportionately high rankings are the unpredictable sting in the tail in these games each season, but we also have Italian Autumn classics and the final WT tours of the year in the month's summary.

Year one lays a foundation in this game, but even if we have had 33% of the races, we have probably only had about 20% of the scoring if other editions are anything to go by, so much still to happen.

Apologies to ThePirate81 and to Joelsim. The rider entered as Kevin Rivera on the spreadsheet (per their entries) is known to CQ as Kevin Rivera Serrano, and so the single point he got in June wasn't credited to those teams. Nor were the 154 that he gained in the last update period, for a stage win, 4 yellow jerseys, and the overall win in the Tour of China II (wherever China II is).

The Pirate was already top of the October rankings: with Rivera now noticed as the 3rd best scorer of the month, he how has all of the top 4 that month in his team, and won it by a 172 point margin. In the overall, Pirate moves up one place, and Joelsim four places.

Between the 5th November update and the end of the year, three riders selected for the game have gained points:
Jai Hindley got 136 pts for a stage win, and the overall win, in Tour of Fuzhou;
Mark Padun was awarded 12 points after the disqualification of Kvasina from the Fleche du Sud;
Jacopo Mosca gained six points from Santoro's DQ in Qinghai Lake.

All three were unique picks: Mosca's six did not raise ThePirate81 above his 19th place, but both Hindley and Padun were Jakob747's selections, and the accumulated 148 points moves him all the way from 13th to 3rd.

The end of year top 5 is, therefore:
1 Madrazo 4012
2 TheAsian 4001

Having finished last year top of the pile, Madrazo (winner of the 2015-17 edition) has failed to get his season started so far, and falls to 5th, with The Asian assuming the lead, and Hakkie his closest (and very close, only 8 points between them) rival. Our leader, The Asian, scored well enough this month to hold onto his lead, but those who had been on the virtual podium, Hakkie and ValvPiti had very mediocre Februaries, each dropping 5 places with teams that were in the top ten overhauling them. The top scorer in February, Hugo Koblet, was also the biggest mover, up 7 places to 6th.

Standings

Of those who were among the top ten at the beginning of the month, only Hakkie made the top 12 on March's scores, and is rewarded with a 4 place jump and a foot on the podium. The only other positive move in the top ten was Hugo Koblet, while Squire has the same increase in position as Hakkie, thus entering the top ten. The Asian's lead is trimmed back a bit, but the Collective Wisdom team has moved even further ahead, were it included in the ranking.

Year 2 Month 4 April 2nd to May 6th

A good month for many of our popular picks: hype is not always wrong

BERNAL GOMEZ Egan Arley 308 (2nd on GC and Mts classification, 3rd in Pts classification, a stage win and another podium, all in Romandie) for 30 teams
MAS NICOLAU Enric 157 (6th in Itzulia, with stage win and other placements) for 27 teams
CARAPAZ MONTENEGRO Richard Antonio 136 (GC and stage wins in Asturias) for 12
O'CONNOR Ben 90 (Stage win and 7th in GC in Tour of the Alps) 3 teams
VENDRAME Andrea 90 (6th in Circuit de la Sarthe, 3rd in Camembert) 8
PADUN Mark 88 (2nd in Itzulia mountains category, stage win and 12 in GC in Tour of the Alps) 1
MCNULTY Brandon 78 6
SCHACHMANN Maximilian 66 23
HIGUITA GARCIA Sergio Andres 66 1
HAGEN Carl Fredrik 65 1
MARTINEZ POVEDA Daniel Felipe 64 16

Probably because the biggest scorer is almost universal, rather than only on a couple of teams, scores are considerably higher here than on the game currently in Year 3.

1 Vladimir 993 (Bernal, Mas, Carapaz, Schachmann, Martinez)
2 Cordi333 912 (Bernal, Mas, Carapaz, McNulty, Schachmann)

Standings

After 3 months in the lead, The Asian is supplanted by Blues in the Bottle, but the top 6 are separated by less than 150 points, and that is well within the range of any month's scores. A six place rise carries Squire to third place, while the two teams to beat him in April, Vladimir and Cirdi, jump into the top ten with rises of 7 and 5 places respectively.

Standings
Squire was 13th at the end of February, now up from 3rd to the top step. Cordi and Vladimir get 5 place jumps within the top ten, while Jakob and Amis Velo join that select group, but none quite match Pirate's 6 place improvement.

Next update will be shortly after the Tour, so that will be another 6 week "month".

Year 2, month 6-7 18 June to 5 August

As in this month's 2016-18 update, the two top scorers are unique picks (one of them the same rider) followed by a very popular pick.

SOSA CUERVO Ivan Ramiro 284 (one stage and overall in both Adriatica Ionica and Sibiu) for Comodoro
AGUIRRE CALPA Hernan Ricardo 282pts (won 2 stages and GC in Qinghai Lake) for Jakob747 (who also has him as a unique pick in the 2016-18 game)
BERNAL GOMEZ Egan Arley 117 (15th in Tour and some stage points) 30 teams
HODEG CHAGUI Alvaro Jose 112 (win and 2 seconds in Tour of Poland) Comodoro and Leadbelly
ARANBURU DEBA Alex 94 Pirate81 and Vladimir
NARVAEZ PRADO Jhonatan Manuel 92 Blues in the Bottle
RYBALKIN Aleksey 92 Comodoro
TOLHOEK Antwan 86 1
GARCIA CORTINA Ivan 78 6
HOFSTETTER Hugo 77 1
CARBONI Giovanni 75 2

Unsurprisingly in the light of the names above, Comodoro is top of the month by a huge margin:
