2 man break allowed to go from the off; Paterski and Shalunov. Peloton 2 minutes down.
Compared to many other riders Shalunov has a rather strange built, his torso is really thick and almost looks like a cask.

Almost as pointless as Wiggins' solo breakaway in 2007.

Shalunov is a former track guy trained by russian cycling legend Alexander Kuznetsov. These guys are monsters in junior and espoirs classes. But they train too hard for their age, so are not able to bring those results to the pro level. Karpets was also strange build and is from that cycling school.

I didn't know that Shalunov is also a product of the old Leningrad track cycling/Lokomotiv sports school.

It's amusing to watch people constantly complaining about how boring it is, it's almost like you guys think it's compulsory to watch the race.

Hopefully the highly anticipated clean sprint between Ewan, Greipel and Gav.

Yes, these guys are the best sprinters here. Nizzolo is hopefully getting into race form to make it a four horse race. I'll go for the Columbian missile.

I don't remember there was a rider from Washington District of Columbia.
Is it time to put the Sofia Vergara picture?????

Hahaha, Pibernik giving us something to laugh about. I had a feeling he was going to do that after he attacked flat out so far away
