Could easily have won 5 stages and the overall with 2.10 overall had he won yesterday and had the jury not stolen their TTT-victory.

I wish them the best of luck. I don't think Gilbert is riding the Ardennes though? Is he doing both?

I think he'll do Amstel and Liege

Eddy Planckaert not impressed. Says he once won 4 of the 5 stages in Semana Catalana. :p

Uh, wouldn't the gap to Soler have stayed roughly the same?

He is doing De Panne next and then RVV. I guess, he won't do Roubaix. So he could be there for the Ardennes.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Absolutely true.

The last 2 days were good. Another nice win for Valverde. Also the breakaway should have won yesterday.
Also very nice to see the time limit being used this time.

Valverde was just spotted riding towards Belgium. He should be catching the BOD in the next twenty minutes or so: no doubt, he'll win GW :D .

So to conclude: the TTT experiment was a failure. It only increased the normal gaps tenfold. That wouldn't have been a huge issue if the rest of the race had been designed to balance out the TTT, but it was the usual parcours on which seconds can be gained, not minutes. It didn't help that the strongest rider was on one of the strongest TTT teams, but that was always a likely scenario and should have been taken into consideration. Just imagine how boring the race would have been if Movistar hadn't been punished. It would have been unwatchable. So please, let this be a lesson, no more of this.

Overall, definitely a much more entertaining race overall than usual. Actually a very good race the last days.
