Was it necessary for this race to be so long?
it just means they take it easy for another couple of laps.

The peloton looks bizarre with all the different jerseys. i like it.

I just like how among all those big powerhouse countries, you'll find those small ones.
Then again, as the Danish commentators pointed out; Costa Rica might not exactly be a big cycling nation, but Andrey Amador Bikkazakova is a rather big name. Same for Eritrea and Amanuel Gebrezgabihier Egerzeigzaarhka.

My Fubo account doesn't work outside the usa, I'm in Bergen. Does anyone know an English live feed that works in EU?

You're in Bergen? Go watch the race live, silly!

I don't understand that French team at all. Gallopin could be a small chance, maybe Alapaphilippe from the right move. Apart from that I'm not really sure why half the other guys are even there. Surely they would've been better off bringing a sprinter.

Curious to see what the Belgian team is going to do. We need a hard race but I'm not sure if they'll be willing to sacrifice their chances for GVA or Gilbert. We need to make the race hard as early as possible but who is going to be willing to do it?
You'd assume Vermote/Naesen/Keukeleire will be the guys doing the early work, but I can see a bit of confusion ensuing when it comes to working out who does what with the rest of the team. GVA, Gilbert, Wellens, Teuns, Benoot and Stuyven are all accustomed to being the protected rider, it's not going to be easy to get them all on the same page.
Naesen is more protected than Wellens, Teuns, Benoot and Stuyven. ;)
I'm just going on the assumption that he's a more willing/regular worker than most of the rest of the team.

Neither of those English links work for me, if anyone knows of others.

I'm at the last turn, 300 meters from the finish in front of the largest TV I've ever seen - it's a great spot and sight, I just can't understand the Norwegian commentator for sh**.

Why not just tune in an hours later? Every monument and Worlds work this way. The distance means that it will be more selective in the end due to the long distance.

Have you checked out live radio? Not The same regional broadcasting regulations. Considering you have a TV already

Hypothetically speaking, if the lighter climber types such as alaphilippe, wellens, kwiatek, maybe dumoulin etc go hard before and on the last climb, could they maybe shell sagan, gva and the like? Not very likely, but I think it would be possible. That would provide a pretty cool chase scenario for the finale.

Probably nothing of the sort happens of course.

I'm not sure those riders would be able to climb Salmon Hill faster than Peter. At least not the final time up.
