2018 Tour of Slovenia (2.1), June 13-17

An interesting fact. Today's stage was ridden on the roads of a famous Slovenian amateur race called Marathon Alpe. In 2012 Roglič, almost 23 at the time, won that race. It was practically the beginning of his rise in the World of cycling. After that win he signed for Slovenian conti team Adria Mobil for the 2013 season. The rest is history. After six years he again takes the victory on the very same roads, but this time against the best cyclists in the World. What a journey it has been.

Spectacular victory today, regardless of what happens in the Tour.

What a monster this guy is!! Impresive performance again.

It will be interesting to see if Lotto changes his initial speech of hunting stages at the Tour and at least starts to speak about a dual leadership between Rogla and Kruijswijk.

They also probably need some leadout guys for Dylan Groenewegen as well, so it will not be all in for GC like with Sky, Movistar and the likes.

Also, if anyone wants to watch a replay of today's stage.

Fight for white will be interesting, Pogačar vs Storer. 3s between them before the start of this ITT.

Tratnik is in the lead right now. Jack Bauer and Roglič are the only riders left that can beat his time IMO.

Roglič won three of the four stage races he has participated in this year! And even in Tirreno he won a stage, but the TTT disaster and especially crashes (one of them even being uphill) prevented him from being in contention.

Three of five stage races actually. He was 6th in Valenciana but it was his first race of the season. Impressive nonetheless. He's been amazing this season. 7 victories already...and counting.

Interested in how Uran performs in this race - An in-form Uran will give Roglic a battle.
He looked in form, but Roglic seems to be a level above
I agree but I expect things to be reversed at the Tour, whether Roglic rides for GC or not.

He really does have the perfect makeup for a week long stage racer. I expect him to win a bunch more of them in the future.

Terrible time trial, Uran
Really? It was fine. I think he's where he needs to be heading into the Tour. Still, you never know with Uran.
