Muhlberger did pretty well to almost beat Alaphilippe there...
Actually he did pretty stupid. If he had been just a little bit smarter and forced Alaphilippe to hit the wind at least once in the last 6-7 km I think he would've won today.

Alaphilippe got it but honestly he's not looking amazing right now.
Early this year he said that in the future he wants to try to win the Tour but to me looks like his climbing is regressing compared to a couple of years ago, in 2015 and 2016 he was able to win the MTF in California, in 2016 he was 6th in the GC at the Duaphine, in 2017 he was 5th in the GC of Paris-Nice with only a bit of fading in the MTF whereas from last year he started to worsen, in Colombia he won the easiest mountain stage both last year and this year then he faded the following day in both occasions, last year he cracked on the mountains in every weeklong stage race he had in (Paris-Nice, Pais Vasco and Dauphine) winning only the hilly Britain and Slovakia and this year he suffered even on the hills at the Tirreno and yesterday he doesn't looks good against far weaker opposition.
