What an epic ride by Alaphilippe. Last 10km it was hard to watch because I was hoping so much that he would make it until the end.

That victory was never really in doubt when he got such a big gap on the climb when he caught Wellens. No one was even close to the level of Alaphilippe today. And yellow jersey as well. Chapeau!

Rouleurs dominate top 10 (apart from the winner, obviously).
Thought there'd be some puncheurs, as well.

I thought I knew how they measure gaps but those 5s have made me question my understanding of the rules. Is it not the gap from the backwheel of the last rider in the first group to the frontwheel of the first rider in the next group?

No. Its the gap from the front wheel of the first group, to the front wheel of the 2nd.

No way there were 5 sec. there but why not give Pinot 5 sec? Bernal just got lucky.

Hard stage. All the more pure sprinters (Ewan, Griepel, Kristoff, Groenewegen) finished 14 minutes down. Only exception was Viviani at 10 minutes.
