I'm enjoying it while it lasts, but with the strange order of events this year, the races that are to follow should see different riders become relevant, and so, as financial investments always remind us, past performance is not an indicator of future results. Just hoping that we get future results.

Covid willing, Brabantse Prijs on Wednesday

"How come you've started giving us neat tables all of a sudden, Armch?"

"VeloRooms is down, or at least unreliable, this morning. Normally I prepare updates there, and copy them here. The cells of the spreadsheet translate as tabs there, but only as spaces here. I know it doesn't normally maximise readability here, but it is the most efficient solution."

"But couldn't you post the neat tables here, then copy it to VeloRooms?"

"No, because end-of-cell coding here is totally ignored at VeloRooms, and I would have to go through the entire thing putting in spaces between columns and line returns."

"So is there an alternative solution?"

"Maybe the fine folks who read this thing, who actually received some training and education in computing, rather than being too old to have learned this stuff at school, can help. Otherwise, I guess it would be possible to put columns of commas in the spreadsheet, use the csv function in VeloRooms, and then strip out all those columns when posting here. But not while I have 'Spring' classics overlapping with Giro overlapping with Vuelta overlapping with Emerging Riders updates x3."

Stage 14 Brabantse Pijl

Alaphilippe almost did it again, which would have been worth an extra 52 points to the Van Der Poel teams.

VAN DER POEL Mathieu 2nd, 78 pts 9 teams
KWIATKOWSKI Michal 6th, 46 6
BAGIOLI Andrea 7th, 40 3

DE MARCHI Alessandro 21st, 5 1
VANENDERT Jelle 22nd, 5 3

Today's top scorer, Bminchow, was the one who took most advantage of the opportunity to change his team at the re-boot. His unique pick, Covi, moves straight into a positive score, as has Bagioli with this result.

My lead has now been eroded to the smallest possible margin, and I have almost no confidence in my cobbles squad, except for WvA.

Amstel Gold race was to have been on Saturday, but has been cancelled, but there are two races due on Sunday: Gent-Wevelgem and Paris Tours. It is more likely that the updates here will be on Monday. Until then, you can analyse your future prospects here.

Stage 15 Paris Tours

Only three Selected riders in the top 30:

MellowVelo and Vladimir each get 46 points (and 65 green points) for VAKOC Petr, 6th.
AmisVelo, Armchair, Comodoro, Del1962, Laarsland, LosBrolin, Northerner, Triley36 all get 8 points (12 green) for BOUHANNI Nacer (18th)
and DJSprtsch gets 6 for HAILU Biniam Girmay (20th)

Green Points
Vladimir moves from 8th to 3rd, Mellow Velo rises 8.

Standings

I suspected that my cobbles team might not be able to defend my lead: Bminchow, the most enthusiastic changer of his team at the re-boot of this game, might have made wide choices in doing so, although the twin heads of his team, Van Aert and Van Der Poel, did nothing for each other's chances in this race: the other two to go for the pair of CycloCross terrors is Semir in fourth, so it wasn't a bad tactic. Salvarani is the salmon of the day, a seven place jump into the top ten.

Scheldeprijs on Wednesday, and with the cancellation of Paris Roubaix, which would have made a nice strong event to finish with, just two more to follow after that, Ronde and De Panne.

Usually loads of points in Ronde van Vlaanderen, who will get them on Sunday?

I'll admit it is fun being at the top for once. Even if i am just living off of two guys. Here's hoping WVA and MVDP fight it out for first and second at Flanders. And maybe MVDP rides the last race too. But Armchair is looking tough with Kwiato, Nacer and Soren Kragh this weekend, in addition to WVA. I'm going to need a MVDP victory. Josed in also has Soren, which scares me. If all we get is one more race, please let it be the Tour of Flanders!

With the points available at the Dreidaagse, Semir would need the first two and one more finisher to draw level. But the battle for the podium remains alive. All off to check out start lists for Wednesday's final leg of this rather disjointed edition.

So this time it wasn't my fault.
I specifically keep a look out for Michael Valgren in the results because of the odd way that his name is given on CQ, and I was a bit surprised not to see him there last night, as he had been on the startlist last time I looked. This morning, I see that he (and not Mikael Delage) finished 21st, gaining 5 points each for Del1962, Hakkie, Rote Laterne, Tobydawq and Vladimir.

Fortunately for my workload, none of them gain green points for the Ronde, even with the additional 22 points, so I don't need to alter that table, but for the purposes of completeness and accuracy, the penultimate standings are:

1 Bminchow 2133
2 SemirS 1840
3 Josedin 1795
4 Armchair 1788
5 Salvarani 1581

8 Zaka_Fan 1479

The extra 22 points put Rote Laterne into the top ten.

And this addendum gives me the chance to remind you of the Vuelta game: Tuesday is an odd deadline, but this is 2020.

Final event, Race 19: Dreidaagse Brugges - De Panne

A good race by all accounts (I saw very little of it) but scarcely a grand finale in terms of the game.

Mellow Velo was not top scorer on any race on his own, but had a share of the victory at Paris-Tours, and second places in Gent-Wevelgem and Lombardia, which made a good base for his score. Congratulations to him and Bminchow, and the above mentioned Northerner for making the podium (even if you kept me off it).

Main Classification: Final standings

Bminchow's lead was indeed unassailable, and his inclusion of Van der Poel when team adjustments were allowed at the season's relaunch was the key to victory. But it was MvdP's fall today, and therefore his failure to score, that caused Semir's 2 place fall from the final podium. Being the best scorer on the day rescued Googolplex from last place, and DJSprtsch makes a late jump to be in the final top ten.

I'd like to hope I won't need to run a Spring Classics game in October again (but who knows what COVID has in store for us in 2021?), but it's certainly been an interesting edition.

Thanks to all who entered, and to the riders who rewarded or mocked our wisdom, and the CQ team, and congratulations to Bminchow and Josedin, and to Mellow Velo for the green jersey.

I'll do a bit of analysis if I get a chance to soon, but with two GT games going on, that might be tricky.
If you think you can understand the system I have devised in the spreadsheet, the numbers are all here for you to explore.

Some numbers to round it all off.

There were 565 riders who scored in at least one of these 19 races: the top scoring ones were:

Those riders obviously had returns of more than 100%, but good performance for the game is a good score (at least 100 pts for the sake of this table) that is a decent percentage of cost
