Second time in a few days Ulissi gets close by starting his sprint a bit too late.Got close in the end. Really good long range sprint from Ulissi.
But he distanced the rest by a lot. So maybe there was not that much more in his tank.Second time in a few days Ulissi gets close by starting his sprint a bit too late.
He was closing in fast, had dropped Moscon, was only 10 meters or so behind Bennett... my guess was he came back too fast and needed to catch a breath. That was weird from van der Poel. Why not continue on the descent and catch Bennett?
Agree with that. He was gassed. He was closing in fast, had dropped Moscon, was only 10 meters or so behind Bennett... my guess was he came back too fast and needed to catch a breath.
Take your time...

That's it.Okay, they are picking grapes from grain fields... hm. They don't do that here in Germany, but other countries, other fashions, they say here...
to be honest i think he lost a little bit of confidence and 'racing sense' over not being in competition for so long.I think so too, but why not just go with Bennett in the first place? Considering how he fared near the top, it seems like he could have done so.
He was sitting maybe a few wheels too far back when Bennett went hard but I'm not sure he could have. Maybe if he had been right on his wheel.I think so too, but why not just go with Bennett in the first place? Considering how he fared near the top, it seems like he could have done so.
VdP has no tactical sense so it could well be tacticalHe was closing in fast, had dropped Moscon, was only 10 meters or so behind Bennett... my guess was he came back too fast and needed to catch a breath.
When the cobbled classixcs come along he'll be sharp again and all the other contenders will be a bit fatigued/have the Tour in their legs, I expect him to end the season on a high note...to be honest i think he lost a little bit of confidence and 'racing sense' over not being in competition for so long.
That may sound weird, but he races all year all the time. I don't think he ever did this long without a race. Just seems to need more races to get his sharpness back.
