Final Green Standings

Archie spent much of the race in the lead in this classification, but in the end, Sagan-like, he succumbed to Sam Bennett. Hirschi getting more stage points than Mezgec was the maiin difference that gets Search the minor award.

Final standings

In the end, Bol finished behind Coquard, so all my calculations were redundant. Just Some Guy slightly extends his winning margin, and Search passes Amis Velo to grab the final podium spot.

Well done to JSG, to Salvarani for also investing in the winner, and to Search for his double coup on the last day; thanks to all the entrants, and to the CQ and PCS websites, and to those who have retained interest so far.

More numbers tomorrow: spreadsheet is on the link at the end of yesterday's post, but I will generate some analysis tomorrow, all things being well.

And the battle between the forums for their average scores was of Lemond/Fignon closeness: Velorooms 1104.58; CN 1104.53

So I think that means 8 managers never got to claim that their rider had one the stage.

If you had a focus on this classification alone, and with remarkable foresight, you could have had
POGACAR Tadej
BENNETT Sam
VAN AERT Wout
ANDERSEN Søren Kragh
HIRSCHI Marc
MEZGEC Luka
VERONA QUINTANILLA Carlos
ROWE Luke

as a team, just within budget, scoring 1453 in this classification alone and easily winning the main game with 2527.

As I explained on VR yesterday, one point more by any manager here, or one less from any team on Velorooms, would have changed the result of the average score competition between the two forums. I didn't put my own score in either team: although Amis Velo sent his team to me by text, I counted it as VeloRooms, because if he does use one of the forums, it is that one.

So essentially, it was Jens Debusschere's sacrificing himself to keep Coquard inside the lime limit on stage 17 that won it for Just Some Guy.

Here is the spreadsheet, and I'll see you all far too soon for the Giro.
