Now Virenque is dissecting her trajectory through the curve. "Faut de trajectoire," he says. Absent tire failure, it does seem that she might have turned in too sharply, and if she was up in the bars her COB would have been higher...still, awful crash in a really bad year already.

Hey Confidis might actually win something

Yes, as an inexperienced motorcyclist, i once made a similar mistake 20 years ago, braking only with the front brake. As soon as your front wheel starts to slide, there are two options. Either it's over immediately and your bike will slide from under you. Or when the initial slide is not "that" bad, you will try to compensate, but will overcompensate and your wheel goes the other way, and you try to compensate again, and again... resulting in a wobble that you can't stop anymore. In my case it ended with a crash against two parked cars.
How did you end up?

LL Sanchez isn't that much younger, but otherwise, yes.

Has anyone else ever put rainbow bands on the national kit before? As impossible as this set of colors is to work with, this one is one of their better kits.

You can tell he's having fun. That's a good sign. Now to keep the rain away or just a light rain on Sunday.

My stars for the time trial:

****Dennis, Dumoulin
***Ganna, Thomas, Küng, Cavagna
**Van Aert, Campenaerts, Bjerg, Dowsett
*Bevin, Durbridge, Craddock, N. Oliveira, Asgreen

It's hard to predict how the riders from the Tour will perform against those who prepared out of competition. I'm also curious to see the young Bjerg, now that young pros are doing so well.

Campenaerts is in good form, and the parcours is very suited to him. Not saying he's going to win, but to me he's much more of a favourite than Dumoulin. At Tirreno, he broke the TT course record as well, only Ganna was better, but the distance suited Ganna much more.

I think the top-3 could be Ganna, Campenaerts, Küng. Cavagna & Dennis as podium candidates. I'm not counting on Van Aert on this course.

Smart money would be a podium of Ganna, Dennis and Campenarts. Suspect Ganna and Dennis will be 1 and 2 (in what order I do not know). WvA strikes me as most likely to break into that 3 as it is a pure power course. It’s all about how he’a recovered after the tour.
