Overall Cavagna seems to be better on hilly terrain. I didn't know that his father is Italian.
Wladimir Belli talks about that every single time Cavagna is on screen!

Most GC riders between 9'20" and 9'30". Vlasov the only one gaining more seconds.

Cepeda shipping loads of time then. Won't be a GC contender anyway. Hopefully he can have a good shot at KOM now.

Cepeda will be fine. Just survive today, freedom to lose some time and get back into things with breaks in his playgrounds. He's not going to be a major player, if he goes for the GPM that would be a good, smart move, otherwise I expect him to finish probably around 15th-20th after gaining some time in some mountain stage escapades in the second half of the race.

I would say it's actually the discipline where it matters the most. Almost always only top teams win ITTs.
Off course. It's obvious.
But breaking it down to minuscule Watts that can get annulled by the choice of the line a rider takes or fluctuations during the effort is ridiculous.
The line between power output effects and road situation is not that fine.
