Yeah. Even if he's not a factor anymore (i'm afraid he'll get another beating today), it's annoying when a team doesn't push an advantage they worked hard for.

Yep. There was a huge opportunity there to basically bury DQS and so many teams with multiple doms but no ambition to actually contribute, just protect.

Imho it was to be expected that Astana won't pull on the flat when all GC guys were with them only except of Remco

Can somebody please explain why Astana have been pulling at the front all day and helping INEOS/SKY?
Are they really scared of George Bennett moving up the standings? Surely not.
They are burning through riders and keeping INEOS fresh when they, with the pink jersey, should be forced to do all the work.

How big of a gap do Mollema and Bennet need at the bottom of Zoncolan to still have a chance? 3 minutes?
I think 4. They haven't done too much work in the break, but it's gonna be choo choo train on the first part and neither were lighting up the climbs earlier in this Giro.

You're right. The one thing we know about SKINEOS is that they're useless at controlling a race and setting the pace and they tend to mismanage their pacing and wilt afterwards...

They've ridden a lot harder today than they would have if they parked Ganna on the front to soft pedal to Zonc

Because they believe in Vlasov and themselves and take the race in their own hands. It might fire back, but it's great to see and if you lose the race this way you can't blame yourself like when you did nothing and lost.

Even if the ascent was right away, would've been tall order.
It would mean a longish solo effort uphill.

They've been reading the forum and are sick of people complaining about breaks winning every stage of the Giro?

Now I could be completely wrong if Evenepoel somehow wins today, but I see it as a sign of physical fatigue and mentality issues that he, as the only GC, rider was caught out on this descent. Descending is not just about technique when fatigue starts to set in. The fact that none of the other teams cared to distance him could be a sign of the same thing.

Only Vlasov and Bernal were in the first (peloton) group. All the others were in the 2nd group, but he was the only of the top 10 in the 3rd group.
