Landa's career is quite funny...

@Astana when he had the opportunity to be the alpha male, Aru won La Vuelta.
@Sky he was a domestique for Froome @Tour, because of his problems @Giro's GC
@Movistar he had to fight with Quintana/Valderde for the leadership
@Bahrain when he is the alpha male at last, he was unlucky once again @Giro and now Caruso is doing the race of his life.

Dude, this guy has my luck!!

Add the Giro 2019 with Carapaz to his Movistar period

He had the lead in a GT with sky. He crashed, though.

Teams Landa has rode for in the past have won 4 of the last 8 Giri, 3 of the last 6 Vueltas, and 8 of the last 9 TdFs. By putting himself in there, he was giving himself the best chance to actually win a GT, not just compete.
The problem with Landa was that some of his team changes were seemingly motivated by the fact that he wasn't always fully supported in his previous team. And then he chose the least likely team to fully support him on his next move.
He led a GT in Sky but he also worked for Froome on TdF so he could've got more opportunities in the same period of time at another team.

It's also debatable if being in the best team but being expected to do work for your team-mate or even being in a complex multi-leader scenario actually gives you a better chance to win a GT than being a fully supported leader at another decent team. Besides, pointing out that these teams won a lot of GTs is not a proof you need to be in one of those teams to win. It could have been some other teams with more wins if certain riders had made different career choices.

Anyway, Landa has left his team as soon as his contract ran out on 3 consecutive occasions, so he didn't really seem to have much confidence in that he had made the right choices.

Almeida is like Ricco compared to Zubeldia. He doesn't strike me as the anonymous type at all.
There is only one Zubeldia although Meintjes made a valiant attempt at imitating him for a few seasons there. But even Meintjes was clearly seen too often at the back of the main group in the mountains. Not a hall of fame ninja..............when Meintjes started appearing in breakaways his ninja dreams were over...........

Barring that first time trial, Foss has done a good Zubeldia impression.

Also, outside the top 10 in 18th place but Nick Schultz, don't think I've seen him or heard his name once.
