Yeah I got pretty hyped but this is only standard if you get sprints that give just bonification seconds. Bernal should have been in Ganna's wheel though imo.

Yep, Bernal was napping. Inexcusable mistake by him. He needs to get his head into the race

According the Brian Holm, Keisse has been complaining about GC teams mixing it up with the sprint teams for "the last 20 years!".
I don't think it was quite that long... at least I don't think he turned pro when he was 18.
So we're going to know how hypocritical Keisse is after today :D

I don't think it's fair to call Keisse hypocritical for saying that GC teams should not interfere with the bunch sprints at the end of the stage. This is a very different situation as this sprint was made for the GC guys in particular. It's not really comparable.
If this sprint had given points as well it would have been murkier.

Edit: But it's definitely a bit funny. And of course Keisse will be hypocritical by the end because he will be keeping Evenepoel at the front. So perhaps you all meant to say that and I only saw it just now lmao.

I wasn't calling him hypocritical. Just saying we were going to see if and how hypocritical he was, but it seems not so much. I wasn't talking about the sprint at 25km.

You don't think an angry 18 year old Keisse was throwing remote controls at his television back then?

Even if points were also given, if the GC guys can gain time, they should take the time in the sprints

Looks like Ewan and Lotto lost position coming into the last km, they were well behind. Considering they should be one of the best drilled teams there, that's a terrible performance by them
