Over the years there were several Giro and Tours where this phrased was rolled out only for everyone to change their mind later on

The Giro is back loaded and while that would no be my preference but that doesn t mean it has been bad ...most breakaways have been interesting and there is no dominant rider for GC or sprinter which makes it a interesting race imo
and it is not over by half

As for GC riders that are out well that is just the way the cookie crumbles

But I guess there is no pleasing some people
