MVDP can win this if he can climb at a reasonably competent level here and then close gaps back at the descent. The lightning start should have taken less out of him than the pocket climbers

Nah, I think Bouwman can put a minute into him on the last climb.

If Van Aert can win on the double Mont Ventoux stage, why not VdP on Cogne?

Nah, I think Bouwman can put a minute into him on the last climb.
Don't know. Probably the first time MvdP is really trying on big climbs, and I'm not sure I like Bouwman over MvdP on 3% gradients.

Also, Bouwman probably just gets dropped on the Verrognes descent

I don't think one of the trio will win the stage, but if the lead sticks MVdP should have a chance imo.
