For all the excitement about Astana taking over in the peloton they're still losing time to the strongest from the breakaway.

Looking back, they shouldn't.
That was the moment the advantage went from 3 to 5 minutes. If they were nice, they could have waited until just after the pee break was over. But some of their riders are better used on the flat before Mortirolo than afterwards.

Okay on these false flat ascents like Etna I didn't mind the focus on the break but please please start showing the GC group more now.

IMHO, he was the obvious favourite for today's stage given how strong he was on the first week.
