If this Giro had more kms of ITT I'd actually back Kämna as Bora's best gc option in this race.
He likes bad weather and loves multi-mountain stages.

Ineos are so stupid again. They pull all climb for nothing except to drop Nibali and Dumoulin, meanwhile their rivals do nothing except a little sprint on the finale to maintain the form

Nah I don’t know. I think they also do this to reduce the stress in stages to come. They got rid of quite a few teams with GC ambitions here like Jumbo, Cofidis, Astana. So now they have established themselves as the team that controls the race, which is what they like.

Tbf, making it a bit harder to see if Yates was feeling the crash wasn't a bad idea.
Nibali still finished ahead of Mollema, at least that's something.

17 GC riders in the end finished in the same time.

Nice to see, that Ciccone after his not optimal preperation is in there. Also Buchmann (who also attacked ones) seems to be a serious contender..

This.

Also next MTF isn't for 5 days. Domestiques can rest a little.

Short of being abused again. thjs is why Kamna needs to ride GC ...he can climb, he can TT , he is talented and smart
Better bet than other Bora GC guys for me
A bit more kms of TT in this race and he'd be the best option for gc for Bora.

I think thats a fine Etna stage tbh. Some long-shot outsiders lost time (Dumo, Nibali) and some interesting young riders (Foss, Skjelmose etc), while an intestine break fought it out. Not bad for a pretty tame MTF.

The problem with Buchmann is that he really suffers cold, rainy weather (unlike his teammate Kämna who actually likes it), that's always gonna be a bit of a problem for him at the Giro.
