Well that is stage done for the day. A token breakaway with no chance of making it has gone away. Time to check out until the last 5km.

Petrol bomb the stage 4 thread, sticky the stage 5 thread, hit the red bull and get stoked about a few sprinters getting dropped on the Portella.

That's one step above hoping someone doesn't make the time cut on the excitement ladder.

The poor break does not get more than 3:30.
Seems like it's hard for a guy like Thomas de Gendt go slower than 40 kmh on a straight road.

Well, even talking thru his cellphone Karsten Migels would be a better commentator than what the English speaking audience tends to get!
I don't understand everything, but for a cycling commentary radio standards are quite O.K.. Descriptive narration and vocal sound (if that's not a pleonasm).
Viewers aren't fixed at the picture all the time, so a nice report is welcome.

Lotto Soudal needs to drop other sprinters and they have a chance. But will they? Milano Sanremo showed you can drop sprinters even on shallow climbs.

I mean, getting rid of Cavendish would be tactically desirable, but I don’t think the team with Ewan really has to get rid of other sprinters. He should be the fastest guy in a straight line in the field

True, but why not give Ewan a better chance against other sprinters, since he can climb pretty well.
