Alaph is 2.30 behind, that was a pretty brutal but strangely gymnastic somersault, he landed about as well as you can on the grass in that situation.
I've done a fair bit of acrobatic and parkour training (slightly embarrassing for me to admit), and he rolled out of that very nicely, distributing the impact over a large area from shoulder to hip and maintaining some momentum.

I hope it comes back together as would be horrible to lose the race to such a big crash and have people benefit even before the race was truly hotting up.

What on earth are quick step playing at? They have a rider sat halfway down the Ala group. This ain’t difficult, they must get him on before next sector or it is curtains. The team should be in the front of ala group driving it as fast as they can

Headwind on the next sector. It ain't gonna be fast there.

As it has happened a countless number of times before... it's part of the game, but yeah it ain't "fair".

It looks much better for Alaphilippe now. Pogacar has crashed too. We don't know how serious those crashes were, but they both look good at the moment.
