Still I don't feel like most of the races in which Pogi rides are one sided and boring to watch. Actually I enjoy displays of power and extraoridinary capabilities like today's very much.

Pogacar winning solo was the most obvious outcome, the bigger question was where the attack was going to come.

After Alaphs crash yes, he was the main favorite. Those two were expected to juke it out all the way to the finish IMO.

Two of those are stage races and Lombardia is more far more suited to Pogacar than the other top classic guys. A race like this suits WVA, VDP and Pidcock a lot and I really don't see him breaking those guys like this.

The relative weakness of this year's startlist, particularly at the top end, is playing out in the worst possible way.

It wouldn't (necessarily) have been that bad if so many of the present favourites/outsiders haven't crashed out.

Pogacar is great but this is a 50 men peleton that's treating him as if he's a Gazprom rider.
Surely DQS or Movistar guys can't be thaaat cooked to not organize a competent chase.

Tirreno was excellent in large part thanks to other riders, especially Van der Poel.

We can blame the peloton. They just start the chase way too late. Also there are teams like Arkea, EF etc. With multiple guys there who are not contributing at all.

they make this race boring. Not Pogacar.
