I appreciate and respect FDJ. They will probably not win, but they are working for their leader like a real team and even if it’s not likely to pay off today this kind of riding like a real team will pay off eventually.
Same in the Tour, even if Gaudu ended “only” in 4th, they road like a team and maximized their result. You got to respect that.

Landa lost 6 minutes on Thursday to Vine, Pinot 8 minutes. I think Vine will attack well before the top of the last climb but he will be the marked man.

I think the current level among the top GC guys is variable enough that even riding high tempo will create some gaps on a climb this steep.

It's just infuriating given just how easy it would have been to make a stage that was infinitely better for at least testing out riders before the final climb, with climbs like Marabio, San Lorenzo and Corredoria easy to attach to this.
