Two riders DNS today, each of whom performed well yesterday and might have given their respective managers some hope for extra points to follow. But no-one suffers the double whammy of having both, and the highest placed to be staring wistfully at a gap in the GC points column is Vladimir in 7th.

And although it is not quite a zero sum game, it is (if we exclude any weighting as to how many times, if at all, a rider is selected) only a -15 point per rider sum game, then others gain from their riders moving into vacated GC spots. Del 1962 crosses the start line today 103 points better off than he crossed the finish line yesterday.
