OMG, what drama! Primoz, you f**king legend! Amazing win despite bad luck again. In the first (harder) part of the climb Primoz was great but Thomas was hanging on pretty well (16' after almost the whole super difficult part) and it was looking to be decided by seconds. And then disaster struct, Primoz's chain dropped. How unlucky! I was furious when watching this thinking that the race had just been decided (he must have lost his advantage over Thomas then). But you know what? Primoz kept pushing big watts, he never gave up while Thomas started cracking in the last 3 km! (losing close to 40 seconds in that section), I couldn't believe it. What a legendary moment. I was so happy seeing Primoz, who seemed shocked at the end. MTT at the end of the race can deliver big things (@Red Rick , I told you).

Thomas didn't pace it well (or blew up). Clearly losing a lot more time on the second half of the climb compared to the first. Actually quite similar to his ITT on stage 1. With better pacing, maybe it's really close (although only because of Roglic dropping the chain)

This Giro really didn't deserve that kind of good drama in the end. Gives far too good a chance to gloss over the s**tshow that took place for much of the race and justify the backloading. At least Roglic and his fans got a bit of redemption for what happened three years ago at the Tour.
I would like to see you riding day after day for weeks in horrible weather, battling injuries, illness, ...

This year's Giro is the result of those circumstances. Yes, it's disappointing, but it's understandable.

Sure, no problem! The final 800 meters have an average gradient of 4.6%. Super steep, I know.
You should add "and-Slow" to your name. Until about 500m to go it's much steeper than that, 10 seconds are almost nothing if one rider still has an acceleration in him and can carry that momentum into the flat/downhill part. Aside from that, your argument does absolutely nothing to support your claim that he "choked" either way.
