OMG, what drama! Primoz, you f**king legend! Amazing win despite bad luck again. In the first (harder) part of the climb Primoz was great but Thomas was hanging on pretty well (16' after almost the whole super difficult part) and it was looking to be decided by seconds. And then disaster struct, Primoz's chain dropped. How unlucky! I was furious when watching this thinking that the race had just been decided (he must have lost his advantage over Thomas then). But you know what? Primoz kept pushing big watts, he never gave up while Thomas started cracking in the last 3 km! I couldn't believe it. What a legendary moment. I was so happy seeing Primoz, who seemed shocked at the end. MTT at the end of the race can deliver big things (@Red Rick , I told you).
I was going to write a similar post.
You save me the time.
Great post!!

Gutted for GT but overjoyed for Primosz; after all he's been through, to win like that in front of so many home fans is a dream come true for him. I thought it was all over after the mechanical but the guy is such a fighter; never say die for him and it paid off today. As others have said, barring a miracle he's not winning a Tour but this is a pretty nice feather in his cap, won in about as dramatic a fashion as possible. Career day for sure.

He was 5th, 25s off the second place. Without Pogačar no one would say he had an off day. Without Pogačar his time at the finish would also be a bit better, because it's hard to be on your limit when you know all is lost... Try to put yourself in his shoes, maybe you will understand.
I somewhat agree, but I think if he had ridden that day like he rode today, he would have won the Tour. Always tough to compare courses and competition, but he looked imperious today and like he was going to pieces in 2020. And of course he smashed everyone today vs nearly 2’ behind Pogacar that day. For whatever reason, he just didn’t have it that day. But he did today.

the problem isnt the route the problem is the riders you have here. THE GC guys are ALMEIDA, G. THOMAS and ROGLIC all are notoriously knowned for riding defensive all the time.....ofcourse its gonne be a snooze fest.

Same route and put Pogacar in it, attacked left and right and sprints in intermiditates sprints too..its the riders not the course and their all notoriously knowned for riding this way all 3 of em so yeah here you go ofcourse this is the outcome then..their riding this non stop all their life its just these riders way of riding.

Ofc would pog ride there wouldnt be much excitment in the GC apartments in terms of time so in that perspective that also could been boring in the sense of easy win but wouldnt lack of attacks left right and center.

Also Roglic will win tomorrow, just a well educated guess from inner circles, run to the bookies.
I hop you all ran to the bookies.

Disagree. It was pretty bad, borderline terrible. He was the best climber and time trialist on paper that year, and stage like that is really his specialty.
