Remco is a *** tool. that crash was 100% his fault. he bitched about someone looking back in the finale a few days ago and that's exactly what he did today. he should be penalized for that stupid ***.

The Trek rider did veer to the left across Remco but the fact that he had just momentarily glanced back over his left shoulder beforehand meant that he could not take evasive action to avoid him. I wouldn't hold the Trek rider entirely blameless but it's clear that Remco could have avoided it especially since it was inside the 3km point of the race in hazardous conditions. He just needed to stay out of trouble and focus.

Despite the fact that he seems to have a lot of bashers I like the fact that he showed a bit of passion. They're not robots.

Incorrect, that's exactly what happened if you watch the race without wearing rainbow jersey-tinted glasses. You should give it a try.
No it is not. Maybe you should try and remove your biased glasses instead. You should give it a try.
Evenepoel is inside the final 3k, so he peels off to the right because he doesn't want/have to be in the sprint chaos. He can't peel off to the left, and he shouldn't just drop down the middle either. He does look to the left for maybe 1 second, but even if he had been looking in front of him, he would not have seen the Trek rider coming. If you want to blame Evenepoel for peeling off to the right, you should equally blame the Trek rider for moving in to the left and cutting him off.

It is a bit hypocritical to say the least.

It was mainly his fault, but to be fair that wasn't the reason he was complaining about the Groves in stage 2.

In this case it is more Remco's fault. At least trek guy was looking in the direction he was moving. Seems Remco perhaps was a little annoyed with the movement to his left and while floating away from it to his right, he kept his focus on the object of his annoyance a little too long instead of concentrating on what is going on around him and especially to his right which is the direction in which he was going.

All this said, i cannot imagine all the stress in the peloton. I don't even want to talk to my mates on the ride last night cuz we are doing 35-40k in a group of 15 and i am concentrating on my spatial awareness lol

Hope Vendrame, and others, don't suffer too nasty injuries. I'm already fed up with these crashes.

Vendrame was on a stretcher so I fear his Giro is over.
Dekker was standing up after a few minutes so he should be fine hopefully.
Maestri no idea, but he looked to be going down hard.
Cav should be fine as he was just gliding.

But yeah, if tmrw is the same they really should just neutralize the last 10km and just let the sprinters who want to take risks go for it.
Or a breakaway win, also fine.

It seems to me that the impact might have actually helped Fiorelli keep it rubber side down. But yeah, play stupid games ... Hope he didn't break his arm. Hope everyone heals up well after this nightmare of a stage.
The spectator possibly was badly injured. Bones, veins, nerves can rupture by something like this.

That‘s the Giro… A great race, but a lot of „anarchy“. Always hectic and dangerous…

He looked left of him, not behind.
But shouldn't have done that either.

He's going straight, it's everyone on his left who goes a little bit left with the road. Just a racing incident, the looking to the left, the Trek guys coming from the right.
Also I think if he was a sprinter or someone with more balancing skills he would've stayed upright. He's not used to that, don't know why his team doesn't hold him at the back of such a group before a sprint. You won't lose seconds there, stay out of it.

Any news on other GC guys caught behind?

The second crash was 100% Remco's own fault. But he's allowed to be frustrated, come on, he had a terrible day on the bike (although really it could have been much worse).

There would have been like 1-2 metres between Evenepoel and the Trek guy if Evenepoel hadn't veered right for no obvious reason, that might as well be lightyears in a sprint finale. That was almost entirely on him.

Jayco send Groenewegen to all the races where Groves would have excelled last year. It's on them he left.

What - Groves moved to a team where the leading sprinter is Philipsen - So it's the same situation being the second sprinter - Actually, Jayco is a better situation because Groenewegen is a more limited sprinter than Philipsen which in theory gives Groves more opportunities - Groves program at Jayco would have been similar to his program at Alpecin and would have included the Giro.
