After re-watching the helicopter shot replay, it was clear that Remco was looking behind on his left side and at the same time moving to his right, while trek rider comes fast on the right, and when Remco looks forward it's too late. I'm no pro, but in my eyes, that's on him and him alone.
Even if he doesn't swerve himself and someone from behind goes from your right to your left?
Watching behind in the final is never a good idea though.

Corratec 6th place says enough about the stage.

No seriously good result for them, but these kind of stages need te be neutralised in the last 10km. Just let the sprinters take risks for the win if they want. Italian roads are just to slippery in this kind of weather.
Yeah, the dust and sand on the road (mainly in Southern Italy) is like soap once it gets wet.

I gotta tell you, not watching and only reading these last few pages was quite a rollercoaster. I also have no idea who actually won, just who crashed how many times.
The guy caused a massive crash 3 stages ago won
