Ackermann's climbing looked really good the past couple of days. He normally should be okay.

And it's a 50pt stage, by the way, contrary to tomorrow. So I think the sprinter teams will do what they can to keep it together.
Yes, that 50 pt designation for today but 25 pt for tomorrow is bizarre since today looks a bit harder.

Trek were always going to have a tough day today trying to control and yet two of their riders emptied themselves in the break yesterday.

It's not raining, it's hosing. With the opening hours of continuous up and down, this could be a very strange stage. Someone within Trek needs to pay a phone call to Jayco (or vice versa) to just dominate the break themselves, rather than following it.
Fuga bidone alert?

Wind and rain? Chance of crosswinds in the run-in? Almeida's descending skills in the rain should be interesting.

of course the weather is horrible and that's why there is a truce in the peleton but honestly it sucks and is a petty. It shows that many teams are here just to be happy to losse out with anything on there side most days. Sometimes you have to take risks. I think a pink jersey could be up for grabs and a stage win.
