This is what happens when you just want to make the last week of the giro interesting, and then you put trash climbs like grand sasso and lago laceno in the first week.

Nah, designate some stages as elimination stages for GC. Have a motorbike go at a certain speed and if it passes you, you can't win GC anymore

Was more thinking like how they do the different average speed calculations and take one of the decent ones and go if you need to go that speed or you're out. Would prevent boring stages like this then.
