We need to spice things up by randomly releasing hungry wolves to chase the riders .
"Oooh, there goes Taco Van Poppel, what a shame, but he has nobody to blame but himself for soft pedaling....
Cavendish looks like the next meal as he's struggling on the climb...oh, look, he's sensed the danger and has found new motivation!"
Nah, designate some stages as elimination stages for GC. Have a motorbike go at a certain speed and if it passes you, you can't win GC anymore

well three riders ahead. so no boni seconds left (unless a somebody comes to a standstill).

So waiting for the final sprint is also not really helpful (unless you are happy with a couple of seconds). This might turn out in the best case scenario for Remco (if he still suffers from the crash).

So basically make a full stage ITT with the usual time cut off from the leader? :D

otherwise in this stage, the potential GC leaders would be the 3 escapees

Was more thinking like how they do the different average speed calculations and take one of the decent ones and go if you need to go that speed or you're out. Would prevent boring stages like this then.

Maybe the bike rider can have a paintball gun and they get hit when they fall out
