2023 National Championships

One thing I will always find amusing about national championships are those ridiculously large lineups, mainly in France. I mean... come on!

(And, no. I am not referring to the fact that Cosnefroy apprently wants to punch people...)

Arkea and FDJ haven't posted their RR lineups yet, but here's the ITT - at least I'm pretty sure it's just the ITT - lineup for FDJ:

Though, I'm of course not sure if the conti riders will be riding the Elite race as well, or if there's a separate U23 race they'll be riding.
Also, among the WT riders, isn't it mostly just Armirail who actually has a chance?

They're doing it on a circuit, so it shouldn't be impossible to let them ride two laps like the men. Back in 2011 they also only did half the distance, but the men rode 46 km that year.

He's an interesting fellow. I think being the overwhelming favourite is not a role that suits him very much.

You'd say the same about Arensman though, if he weren't actually there. A 42 k pan flat TT is something that you just never encounter.

But because of the silly mixed relay, two of them will probably be able to call themselves world champions.

Which is a damning indictment of the way this sport has evolved. Until Bergen 2017 every WC TT was longer, usually by a significant margin, for starters.

Perhaps he's been' on the pop' since Italy.
