@SHAD0W93

We are getting ahead of ourself now but in general support would mean more then podium. As then the goal is always only one and that is an overall win. We'll see.

Lipowitz? The only one being somewhat consistent

I mean of course quality riders that can win deserve support, RBH just doesn't offer it ATM. Because of that it's a sort of a dog eat dog working environment on where their finest have to settle for at best a podium position. Like that is somehow great accomplishment. Instead of constant sharpening to instead dull their champions.

I don't agree with that at all. In Valencia, Pellizzari rode for Evenepoel. In Catalunya, Evenepoel rode for Lipowitz. The only one not riding for his teammates when they are in a better position is Roglic.

Only because he couldn't shake him on the descent - otherwise it would've looked bad.

Pellizzari is the only real team player among them.
No... Lipowitz was very clear about it after the race. He said that Evenepoel said during the race he wasn't feeling great and he wanted to help Lipowitz secure podium.

Obviously that is not correct but as you keep score, who rode for Rogla?

When was Roglic the leader of the team this season such that he deserved to be ridden for? If he was actually able to follow Del Toro in Tirreno or Seixas in Basque, you had a case, but that wasn’t so.

Who cares about consistency if he doesn't win a single stage, let alone a GC.
Because teams care about a TDF podium even if you don't win a stage. I'm not sure what gets you the most exposure long term. A stage win or podium in TDF. Probably the podium.

I would say nether. Stage wins from the GC group are somewhat good but stage wins from breakaway basically count for nothing. The podium brings some exposure to the sponsors but nowhere near what winning does, therefor the best option from a team's perspective is to always go for the win and disregard podiums. Some riders believe that winning a stage here or there or being 6th in the GC may bring them a good contract so that is why they opt for that strategy. And it pays off for the riders somewhat but only because team principles value in cycling well yet.

I surely remember some epic stage wins, but I don't know who was on the TdF podium three years ago...

I don't live in Germany, so I don't know how much Lipowitz is used in marketing campaigns in the country now.
