Yet another Spanish stage race next: Burgos, starting on Thursday, results (hopefully) on Sunday evening.

Race 17 Burgos

Due mainly to the popularity of Van Androoij nd Dygert, this has been the highest scoring even of the game so far.
Vollering continues to dominate: she has more than twice as many CQ points from WWT races as anyone else, and she has teammates in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Plenty of positional change, even high in the rankings, means that this is going to stay competitive for a while yet.
The three Vollering teams are 2nd, 5th and 12th, so having the top scorer is not, of itself, any necessary guarantee of success.

Racing around my way next, in the Ride London Classique. I believe SD Worx are not competing, so someone else can get a look in.

Great 3 weeks of spanish WT racing for my team. Let's keep it this way!
Because you mention it, and as I have no Giro CQ duties today, here are the points we each gleaned during the 3 Spanish stage races (Vuelta, Itzulia, Burgos).

Green points
DJW takes a win, having been 2nd four times. TRiley finally makes his first appearance on a top ten, so everyone now has Green points, so here is the whole table to celebrate.

80 points for the top scoring manager in every race, so although Rufs has a useful gap, there is plenty of possibility of change.

Main CQ Points
A few significant changes in the top ten, the biggest of which has Madrazo coming onto the podium. Skidmark's 160 point lead looks like a lot (twice what it was before this event), but the swings in this game can be pretty big.

Women's Tour of Britain has been cancelled, so the next WWT event is the strangely named 'Tour de Suisse Women' (How many Swiss women do they go around?) on 17-20 June. See you then.

Event 20 Giro Donne

I was sure that I had looked it up and it wasn't the case when I first announced the game, but it turns out that CQ do have a higher points scale for GTs (but don't apply it to La Vuelta), and that they have had that for the Giro back to 2004. I suspect that there has been some post-facto revision of points there, but I'll look into that later.

I watched almost nothing of this: there was another event happening in Spain and France that you may have been aware of. Rather disappointed that GCN didn't do one of their highlights edits of each stage: I could have fitted in and enjoyed 20-25 minutes each evening, and avoided looking at results pages before that.

But now I have had to look at the results pages, and the consequences are:

The riders that we picked (Van Vleuten would have been worth exactly twice Labous's haul if anyone had picked her)

Main Game

Skidmark beginning to look more comfortable in that top spot, where he has been since La Vuelta. The concentration of stage races rather than one-dayers seems to have been to his advantage.

Wow, just catching up on some game threads after 10 weeks in the wilderness and I'm on top of this game?! That is some dumb luck.

Looks like after the current TdF, the WWT races remaining are:

- 8.23-8.27 Tour of Scandinavia
- 9.02 Trofee CREATIZIT
- 9.05-9.10 Simac Ladies Tour
- 9.15-9.17 Romandie
- 10.12-10.14 Chongming Island
- 10.17 Guangxi

Not much left! I'm gonna follow as best I can and see if my team can bring it home. Thanks again for putting this together AC.

Well, like fourof the top seven, you have the two riders who have made a big profit (Reusser and Realini). Only you and 2nd placed Shalgo have 4 of the top 12 point earners (including the big profit pair and Van Androoij shared, and Shalgo's Niewiadoma (480) is ahead of your Georgi (448), but farther down the list of unshared riders, your next three are Vos (201), Jastrab (178) and Henderson (166) before we reach Shalgo's next rider, Shackley (121).

(All these points are pre-Tour Femmes)

So maybe not dumb luck, although your investment of 280 pts in the retired Chantaal van den Broeck-Blaak cries out for explanation....

Demi Vollering is by a long way the highest scorer, but also the most expensive picked rider. Her teams are in 6th, 8th and 15th.

Event 21 Tour de France Femmes, zwift, whatever

Once again, I know that the order of riders here isn't the finishing order: I collate the CQ points won and that gives the order.

Not a great event for Skidmark, whose top TdF scorer was Reusser, as everyone else in the top ten gets closer. Most notably Rufs, who has jumped from 8th to make the lead less than 100 points.

Although this is called the WWT Game, it was always the intention to include the World Championships. I see that I had said that I will include the Mixed Relay there as well.
However, as explained elsewhere, I will not have access to a laptop that week, so results from all three WC events sometime around 24th August.
Do I count three separate events, 2 (with the TT relay and ITT combined) or group it as one for the purposes of the Green jersey?

The three Grand Tours (or the daughter races of the three Grand Tours, if you prefer) have been the second, third and fourth highest contributing events so far (Ride London, with very popular picks in first second and third outpointed them all).

All races score
We picked our riders in the knowledge that only WWT and WC events would contribute to the scores, and if the scoring had been different, we may have made different picks. But if we were to get all the CQ points our riders have earned this year so far, then the table would be:

The changes in position are since I did this at the end of the Spring one dayers season, around the end of April.

As explained above, I was away for the latter part of Glasgow week, so these are a bit late, but bring the game up to date.

Some of us may feel that Marlen Reusser owes us some points from this...
3 points to all riders in the top 50, rather than the usual all finishers, but that won't have made much difference (3 teams have Lotte Lepisto and one has Fariba Hashimi)

I was worried for Rufs when he scored a big fat zero on the TTT relay, but he seems to have made up for it here.

The spreadsheet is a bit of a mess at the moment: temporary labels and out of chronological order. I'll try to tidy it up a bit before I post it, but the numbers are, I think, trustworthy. I'll catch up after the ScandiTour.

And if any of you have not yet submitted your teams for La Vuelta, you only have a few hours. Please send to @EvansIsTheBest . And soon.

Event 25 Tour of Scandinavia
CQ have still not even put up the results from even stage 1, but I assume that they will be allocating points for thise, and on the point scale for equivalent races, so I have used PCS's results and done name swaps where necessary, so I hope this is an accurate presumption of what the points will be.

Van Vleuten won the race, but Uttrup took more CQ points from it.

A close battle for the lead, and another for third. But I have no idea to what extent the women tend to finish their seasons early, what might still be serious goals, and what quality of rider to expect to see going to the Chinese races.

With 80 points available each event, and 3 left, I guess any of the top could win (and any of the top 14 could make the podium)

Main
DJW gets back on the podium: it's not a done deal yet. With 2 of the remaining 3 events being in China, I guess it is largely a matter of who attends those races: does anyone know what type of field they are expecting?

Well, Chongming Island is absolutely pan flat so unless they've decided to do something far more interesting than they've ever done before in Guangxi, Romandie will likely be the last time any of the climber types race.

Green points
Only three teams that can possibly win now; there are 6 teams with a chance for the podium (Rufs is sure of at least that) and 21 teams that could appear in the top ten.

Main CQ points
Skidmark caught up some ground on Rufs, but catching up by 2 points per event is not going to change the outcome. Shalgo's top score in this event brings a place on the podium.

And from here on, whatever is to be decided in the game will be decided in China. Start lists are still almost empty, so there are several WWT teams listed as competing at each event, so I guess there will be some significant riders.

Of those who were the top 50 scoring (CQ points in WWT races) riders, only Marta Lach was at this race. So not having scorers here is not necessarily a poor reflection on a team.

Far fewer of our named riders than most events have had, so fewer of us score points.

Rufs didn't even need that half a point to be certain of winning: Jon Ezeitza was the only other member of the top ten in this classification.

Libertine Seguros at least had one rider in this event, therefore presumably has someone at Guangxi on Tuesday who might take her up to second here.

Main CQ points
Assuming that the startlist for Guangxi is essentially the same as that here, there is no real challenge to come to Rufs. Of the top ten, only LS and Jon E scored any points in Chongming.

The final chapter will be written early on Tuesday morning on the roads of China. The final update will be written a few hours later on a sofa in Essex. But it seems clear that that will only be minor details, and Rufs can start planning his celebration.

I don't know if BR2, or even her first incarnation, Blue Roads, still looks at the board occasionally, but the Chinese tail end of the season, through Daria Pikulik, has been good for her.

The top 5 teams in this event is exactly the same as the top 5 in Chongming Island

FINAL STANDINGS

Green points
This final pair of races pushed BR into the top ten here, and lifted Postman Hat and Amis Velo out of the last two places (the latter got twenty times as many points in this classification in the last few days as in the whole of the rest of the season).

But the win has been beyond doubt for some time: Rufs has been top scorer on 5 of the 30 events, and on the podium in five more. Shalgo and Libertine Seguros fill the podium spots, under some pressure from DJW but that challenge, like many others, fizzled out with a lack of riders travelling east.

Main points

Rufs was already the leader after just the second event, although he had some subsequent slumps in form, and was down to 8th after the Giro. Samu Cuenca and DJW also held the lead for brief periods early on, but for a long time it has passed between Skidmark and Rufs. Shalgo has been close for some time, but never quite hit the top. It looked like it might go to the wire, but other than Rufs (who didn't harvest many points there) no-one else in the top five seems to have had any riders in China at all.

Congratulations to Rufs for a double victory (despite spending 374 points of his budget on two riders who had retired before the game started), and to those who pushed him close. Thanks to the riders, all who took part, and to CQ.

I need to go out, but more details and number crunching to follow. Until then, feel free to conduct your own postmortems with the data here
