2024 Giro d'Italia, Stage 1: Venaria Reale - Torino, 140 km (Saturday, May 4)

It's obvious that TVL is here to tire Pog for the tour. So they will start swinging from the get go. TVL to 1, 2, 3 the stage. Pog to be left cockeyed after the stage and he will be so confused to what marginal gains TVL has come up with that he won't find his legs before the ITT. He will look like a fatty in a candy store, too much to do in so little time.

Jokes aside. I think he will get more competition than we have seen earlier. He will go down in week 3 due to his weight loss.

The 107th edition of @giroditalia
starts tomorrow, starting from Turin and ending in Rome on #26maggio . As usual, the #Poliziastradale will accompany the athletes in pink jerseys and will guarantee safety during all transfers

If UAE have any sense (and that's a debatable point) they'll let a few guys get a few seconds on everyone else and worry about the leader's jersey later in the race. The thought of a whole bunch of GC guys going nuts down the descent to the finish seems risky to say the least. Just think of Mas and Carapaz at the Tour last year.

Maybe, but how many stages would they have to control until the TT? Stage 6 maybe? Possibly stage 2 too. As the sprint teams would take control of 3,4,5.

Pogi will be alone there, no risks.

as someone mentioned in the pre-race interviews (forgot who), having car number #1 will also be of advantage for the sterrato stage. So he expected UAE to try to keep the jersey until then at least.
