Mohoric got *** by mechanicals.

Unbound takes preperation to get the bike setup right. For pure watts it's absolutely nothing for elite WT riders.
Have fun with all that. So far, all of the WT guys who showed up, left humbled. And a ride like SBT, Crushar, and particularly Leadville, would humble them as well. You have fun watching the bike path world championship, and pretend it's gravel.

And yea, actually prepareing and knowing wnat you're doing is part of the races...it's hard when you don't have people massaging your taint and making sure your butt is wiped clean, which is not part of a race like Unbound.

No need. I got to watch Swenson get dusted by retired Valverde last year. That's all ya need to know.

Seriously part time riders like Thijs Zonneveld being in the lead group before a mechanical in Unbound tells you everything.
It was a bike path race last year too...and Kegan got 5th against WT pros. You should start a BIke Path section for this forum. It's all you seem to know about gravel racing.

It's funny watching you guys sh!t on riders like Beers and Swensen. Sure, I understand that these riders have massive motors, and if they proerly prepared, and raced regularly, they would dominate...but they don't, so the UCI creates a "gravel" race to showcase people rather than a race. It's not an actual gravel race, and I for one would LOVE to have some of these guys over to race. But lets see them show up at Leadville or Cape Epic, and see how much fun it is to see them get shelled.

Retired Ten Dan finished 4th in Unbound 2023, just 6s behind the winner. Does that make Ten Dam a better rider than Mohoric?
You do know ten Dam specifically races and prepares for US gravel races, right? He raced that well, because he actually prepared, unlike Mohoric who showed up thinking he could mail it in and beat up on the locals. Funny, he didn't cross the finish line...must have been humbling.

EDIT: And I love Mohoric. No doubting his talent and engine. Still, an actual gravel race is not a road race with some bike paths thrown in to make them ride 35's. That was not a gravel race, but I hope and pray Mathieu will show up at Unbound next year.
