nono I think it was, but I was confused by Dani & Jo literally not calling the winner there, just talking about the teammates (annual complaint about I thought the UCI rules said you rode alone), what a great race and saying Blanco alot and now weve shot off to some MTBing and didnt see a results caption.

I don't think anyone is actually following that rule... and in some countries, it actually makes for more interesting racing, as the teams with the largest numbers are the lower ranked teams.

no I dont think anyone does anymore, but it is still a rule I think :) it just bugs me when the commentators treat these races as though theyre normal team tactic style races, when they shouldnt be by rights.

Who will wear the Danish TT champ's jersy? No one by the way things are - Skjelmose says he's happy with being runner up -

"I gave it everything I had, but was less than two seconds behind Johan Price-Pejtersen when I crossed the finish line. The fact that Johan was subsequently disqualified for, according to the commissioners, having taken advantage of riding on the cycle path on part of the route, and that I thus got gold instead of silver, I neither can nor will I take responsibility for. It was not a decision I sought out or pushed for - on the contrary." "On the other hand, I would like to express my great sympathy for Johan, who is not just a fantastic time trialist, as we saw yesterday, but whom I consider a good friend in the field. I have therefore offered Johan that he can have both the Champion's jersey and medal I was handed at the ceremony - to acknowledge his performance, so that it does not go down in history as pure annoyance."

Sebastian Brandt Christiansen is the new Danish Junior Road Race Champion.
A large group got away, and the peloton - with Withen - never made it back.

Meanwhile, I just got the answer to the Uttrup riddle from the ITT, she's not riding the road race either; back problems...

In the Elite (+U23 + Junior) Women's race two riders have 2:30 minutes.
Less than 100 Ks to go.

In the German ITT Women's champs, Mieke Kröger won with an old GreenEdge-Scott bike she bought from her coach ten years ago. It's apparently still faster then everything she got from her pro teams later on.

I was surprised she was able to beat Niedermaier considering she's been fully committed to the track this year, but I guess the Canyon bikes aren't what they used to be either.
