Rufs top score brings him into the top ten, ousting Salvarani. The top three are even farther clear of the rest, but of the three, Samu scored most poorly this time around. Bminchow is now over 200 points clear.

Standings
First and third this time around are fairly low in the year long rankings, but second place is Leadbelly, moving up within the top tem, and 4th is the leader Bminchow, stretching his lead by more than 100 points. Ruvu gets a bit closer to Samu, Amis Velo gets closer to both of them, but gaps are such that it would take a big result to change anything in the top 5.

Ahtosalo

Berg Edseth

Gåskjenn
Koerner

(I think Koerner is just about sneaking into profit. CQ is being a bit slow with updating, but she's just two points short. Unless, of course she's not getting any points because she got dropped so early...)

Other than Leadbelly, the teams to pick the World Champion were DJSprtsch and Jon Ezeitza, though their back-up selections failed to get them high in the rankings for this session.

Standings
A strong score from Ruvu, and rather average yields from Bminchow and Samu Cuenca means that the top three are even farther clear of the rest, but at least have some intrigue, for second if not for top spot. I haven't looked at rider calendars for October to see if there is anyone going to score the final decisive points. Slow Climber moves into position of best of the rest, but the podium seems out of reach.

I'll aim for an update after the Simac Tour, which will leave not much more than the Chinese races to finish.

I don't believe that any team has any rider qualified to score in the Taiwanese nationals, so that wraps up the scoring.

Sept 30 to Oct 20
Our last phase includes Simac Tour and the Chinese WT events.

Final Standings

Zoe Backstedt was the most popular pick in the game, and it seemed for a very long time that she was not a particularly wise selection. She finally turned a profit in the last significant European stage race, and for Samu Cuenca (despite efforts to nobble her in that event, through eliminating all her teammates) that was enough to topple from second place to third, giving last year's winner Ruvu a second place this time. Bminchow extended his lead, held since April, still further to seal the victory that has seemed inevitable for some time. The lower part of the top ten has remained fluid throughout the game, and there were some final readjustments down there.

The best possible team would have all been drawn from those in the top 17 of this listing, only Balsamo being priced out (so as far down as Rooijakkers, with that one exception). That team would have cost 3949, and brought in 12369. Our winner had 65.3% of that perfect score.

Of those scoring at least 200, the best percentage returns on investment were:

Rather embarrassingly, Collective ignorance, a team made up entirely of riders that not one of us picked, would have won:

None of us managed to get more than 13 riders in profit, although Leadbelly, by virtue of having Eri Yonamine exactly cover her cost, only had 2 in the red. But arguably Rufs came closest to avoiding loss, with his worst performer losing "only" 172 points (Pfeiffer Georgi).
Nobody had more than one pick that didn't score at all (and even the winner had one of them)

I'll be putting up an invitation around mid-December for next year's game. Happy shortlisting.
