In RhD texting voice: *ANDERSEN. Don't make him Swedish.

Im Samu texting voice: *ANDERSEN. Don't make him North American.

Don't make him anything other than Danish!

Just for fun, here are a list of riders with bracketed names:

STEPHENS (ROBERTSON) Lauren
NORSGAARD BJERG (JØRGENSEN) Emma Cecilie
EDWARDS (WINDER) Ruth
DEIGNAN (ARMITSTEAD) Elizabeth
WOOD (BARNES) Alice - That's a rather new thing, isn't it?

CQ also changed the format of Karen Lorena Villamizar's name by omitting Lorena, despite the fact that it appears to be the name she prefers to go by herself.
Oops, sorry about O rather than E.

Managing lists for the Emerging Riders games means than just about every name change comes to my attention. I suspect that they assume that whatever variant on a name they have most recently received from a race results service becomes the current name. Benoit Cosnefroy has just changed to that circumflex devoid version of his name in the last few weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if after his next result in a French speaking territory he suddenly reacquired it.

Yes, Alice Barnes and Oliver Wood got married in the off season.

Kim Le Court hasn't had Pienaar added to her name (yet), but Tamara Dronova has that hyphen between her maiden name and, what I assume is, her married name, which I'm not sure is her legal name.

20 May to 10 June
3 weeks, including Ride London and Tour of Britain, GP Eibar, Vuelta a Andalucia, Catalunya, and a batch of 1.1s, mainly in Belgium

Scoring big was the preserve of the less popular picks this time around: the two biggest scorers having been priced out as far as most teams are concerned.

Standings
Only one of those who were top ten on 19th May was in the top half during these three weeks. Being the exception to the rule of underacheivement among the leaders puts Samu Cuenca back up to 2nd overall, with the gap more than halved. Muddy Waters takes a big jump forward to join the battle for 4th place which, were it more prestigious, would be very closely fought with 3 teams separated by just 5 points, and 6 teams in 35, and a couple more with not-insurmountable gaps.

I'm guessing that my best chance to do the next update will be after week 1 of the Tour (there is a rest day on the Monday, yes?) So that should include Tour de Suisse, Thuringen Tour, and a thousand and one national championships.

And I suppose that was the first of what will be many TdF game reminders and prompts that I shall scatter around the forum in the next three weeks.

All of us (as represented by Collective Wisdom) beat all of as (as individuals), although there were high scoring rare picks.
The runaway top three overall are 1st, 2nd and 4th this time, so they are no less runaway.

The top two scored well, Ruvu in third less so, but they were beaten by the teams that were already 4th to 6th, so the podium is slightly less distant from the rest of the field than it was.

I don't think Fisher-Black is riding the time trial. New Zealand only has one spot, unless other countries have pulled out, but that is far more likely to happen in the road race. Kim Cadzow has already arrived in Paris whereas NFB appears to be in Andorra at the moment.

Fortunately you don't have Faulkner, so I was still able to claw back a few points ;)

If I've updated AC's spreadsheet correctly, you're now only 7 points ahead of me, but I expect your riders to outscore my team next week.
Hey. Well you do have Faulkner again and she is hot. If her and Mavi do their thing, I need Vos and Vas to get some top 5s and Realini to step up in place of Longo.

And Ruvu has a good start with Ahtosalo, and also has Dygert and Ruegg to keep this race tight.
