Any thoughts on the Belgian Road Race? It's in Binche, so maybe some hills? Any chance Remco does it?
I don't know about the parcours but every Belgian pro is obliged to ride the Belgian National road race. So unless he is injured or sick (or pretends to be) he'll have to ride the race.

So, would it be possible for Gibbons to get on a plane, fly down to South Africa and (attempt to) defend his title?

George Bennett and Currie getting dusted by 2 conti riders. Paul Wright is New Zeelands new National Champ.

Top favorites Gate, FFB and Pithie were behind all day.

all finished together 8 mins down. wonder what happened? just marked themselves out of it?

The typical NZ race when the parcours is just not hard enough. Super tactical. Early brake of 16 just made it to the finish. Thompson and Strong marked the other pros for a long time. They should've just went full together ignoring them earlier in the race. FFB tried when it was 2 minute difference. Gate and the others literally waited till it was 4 minutes and then gave up.

Samuel Flórez is the new U23 champion in Colombia, also claiming victory in the U23 individual time trial. I don't know much about him, but he does not look the typical Colombian cyclist. Standing at 1.80 meters tall, time will tell if he truly lives up to the hype.

Bigger picture behind the NZ RR. Pithie and Finn Fisher Black in the 8 minute group which suggests they were not riding as a team. The same thing happened in the final of COGRR race. I suspect these two riders needed to move to different teams. Sometimes rider fall to the allure of a bigger team when a mid-level team may be a better choice.

1st in the RR for Guillermo Silva who is actually really good, Fagúndez 2nd.

Mauricio doesn't ride it but the Uruguayan Wout Van Aert will be at Algarve in 10 days to face his nemesis Belgian Wout Van Aert, though he will be on his best behaviour as the UCI actually watch these races and won't do anything as usual.

Thomas Silva is apparently the name of a deaf magician, but this one also knows a trick or two.

Fans on the roadside holding aloft a familiar figure who has come out to watch.
